In order to discuss the novel developments of Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Radiotherapy (SRS/SRT) in management of patients with oncological diseases and to highlight recent breakthroughs and cutting-edge technologies in use of these modalities for management of various cancers, the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society (www.isrsy.org) along with Sigulda Radiosurgery Center have organized its dedicated Educational Course.
ISRS Educational Course will be held in Latvia and Baltic countries for the second time; the first event was organized in Sigulda on October 6-8, 2017 and was overwhelmingly successful (more details can be found here). This time the main topics of the program will be focused on applications of SRS/SRT for management of brain metastases and intracranial gliomas, renal, gynecological, prostate, and abdominal cancers, as well as on specific issues of medical physics and neuroimaging related to stereotactic irradiation. The Faculty will include well-recognized experts in the field, with wide practical experience in SRS/SRT. Traditionally, beyond the educational lectures special time will be allocated for free and open discussions and critics of the presented opinions. The program may be of certain interest for neurosurgeons, general, medical, and radiation oncologists, oncologic surgeons, and urologists, thus the organizers expect active participation of colleagues from the Baltic States, European Union, and neighboring countries. The event is supported by world-leading vendors of radiosurgical equipment Accuray, Elekta, and Brainlab, which will organize their Satellite Symposiums, and organized in collaboration with the Latvian Neurosurgical Association and Latvian Urological Association. English will be the official language of the Course.
