International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society specialized conference devoted to radiosurgery was taken place in Sigulda in October 2017

In order to highlight the growing number of benign and malignant tumours and to inform about the latest breakthroughs and cutting-edge technologies in treating this disease, for the first time in Latvia and in Baltic countries the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society was organised an educational conference – ISRS Educational Course „SRS/SRT IN MANAGEMENT OF INTRACRANIAL SCHWANNOMAS, SKULL BASE TUMORS, AND GENITO – URINARY CANCERS” in October 6 to 8, 2017.
The central topics of the conference was related to clinical application of stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapy (SRS/SRT) when treating intracranial skull tumours (schwannomas (neuromas), skull base tumours, meningiomas, pituitary tumours etc.) as well as in cases of extracranial genito-urinary tumour pathologies as kidney and prostate cancer.

The conference was attended by more than 70 neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, oncologic surgeons, endocrinologists and urologists from the Baltic States, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Finland and other countries from Eastern Europe.
